#ThrowbackThursday Market Street from 2007

With the latest modular being revealled it was only fitting I featured one of the early ones and the only one to be designed by a LEGO fan. Right before we crack on let’s get one thing clear, although it is listed as a Factory set it is part of the modular line this is modular #2 and LEGO showed that when doing the mini modulars the other year.

For argument sakes here are the modulars in order they were release;

From my own collection I am missing this, Green Grocer and the latest two (although getting Detectives Office for Xmas) and Brick Bank for B’day. So this set was part of the factory line. This was like Cuusoo in that sets got voted for and then made into sets.  In all 8 sets were made under the Factory label between 2005 and 2008.  The set came with 1,248 and retailed at £59.99. Just like Cafe Corner it had no interior and is the only modular not to feature the classic minifigure faces on the minifigures.

Here was the official product description; “Designed by a LEGO fan, this realistic LEGO Factory exclusive features interesting colors and details like spiral staircases, awnings, removable balconies and a terrace roof. The modular construction allows you to put it together in different ways and to enlarge your LEGO town or city as your collection grows! Whats more this was given out as the factory tour gift in 2007, only difference was the packaging. So it cost you £59.99 back in 2007 but now a second hand one without box or instructions would cost at least £378. For a MISB it would set you back £1,196 and upwards!!! This proves the modulars are worth collecting.

So do you own it? Keith one of the staff here has just parted with £395 to get a second hand one and I am planning on Bricklinking this set. Can I get all new elements cheaper then how much he paid?
