The most instantly recognisable LEGO sets from The LEGO NINJAGO Movie are the ninja mechs, which have dominated posters and promotional material for the theatrical release. All of the mechs are available – or as poor Cole knows, will be available – as regular, large LEGO sets. Appealing as most of them turned out, not everyone can afford the money or shelf space to own the entire roster.

Thankfully, the LEGO Group seems to be releasing all of the mechs in mini build format. 30427 Ice Tank is one of those, a polybag containing the elements required to build a tiny representation of Zane’s vehicle. This little set has shown up as part of various promotions and at select retailers around the world.

This is an entirely appealing little build, and well worth picking up for fans of The LEGO NINJAGO Movie. It demonstrates what can be achieved with less than 100 pieces, as the two sloped bricks perfectly capture the unique shape of Zane’s Ice Tank. The mini treads also work despite being used in such small quantity. When placed next to 70616 Ice Tank, it really does look like that set has been replicated and then minaturised.

This is well worth picking up for anyone looking to get some tips and ideas about building mini and micro scale LEGO models. It is also a great option for those who want to have a piece of The LEGO NINJAGO Movie in their collection, but would like something smaller than the regular sets to display. Every year the LEGO Group release a number of interesting polybags, and this one is well worth picking up.
