The LEGO Group is working with UK retailers in case of a no-deal Brexit

The LEGO Group is working with retailers to ensure they have stock in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

LEGO CEO Niels B Christiansen told the BBC that the company is working with UK retailers to make sure they have enough stock if a no-deal Brexit occurs. With the Prime Minister Boris Johnson determined for UK to leave the European Union on October 31 no matter what, the likelihood of a no-deal Brexit is perceived to have increased.

“We have been working with customers to make sure the flow of product won’t be disrupted,” Christiansen said, in an interview following the announcement of the LEGO Group’s increased sales for the first half of 2019.

The CEO said that he is “monitoring the situation”. The BBC suggest that the imported LEGO products, manufactured in Czech Republic, Denmark and Hungary, could have trade levies applied to them.
When the pound was devalued in 2016, the LEGO Group increased wholesale prices by 5%.
