Star Wars: The Last Jedi writer/director Rian Johnson builds LEGO Star Wars sets and recently picked up the coveted 75192 Millennium Falcon.
In the world of modern promotional duties, Star Wars: The Last Jedi writer/director Rian Johnson has to talk to a phone and say hello to lots of people. As part of a recent Instagram live video from the official Star Wars account, Johnson revealed that while working on the screenplay for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, he was also building LEGO sets.
‘When I was actually writing this movie, The Last Jedi, a couple of years ago, I got a bunch of LEGO Star Wars sets and I would build them while I was writing,’ he told the worldwide audience. ‘It was kind of a meditative thing I did to kind of concentrate.’
As if that was not enough to confirm his LEGO fan credentials, the Star Wars creative also revealed that he picked up the Ultimate Collector Series 75192 Millennium Falcon. ‘As a big treat to myself I just got the massive Millennium Falcon LEGO set so maybe when I’m writing the next thing I do I’ll put that thing together.’
Lucasfilm recently confirmed that Rian Johnson will develop an entirely new trilogy of Star Wars films set outside the main Skywalker saga.
LEGO sets based on Star Wars: The Last Jedi are available now. Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released on December 14 in the UK and December 15 in the USA.
