Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi set for limited big screen release

The first season ofStar Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi will reportedly be screened in full at a limited number of theaters in the US next week.

This Wednesday sees the penultimate episode of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi arriving on Disney+. The series has been a huge hit for the streaming service and a second season of the show may actively be in development.

It’s now been revealed that the final episode ofStar Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi will appear on both Disney+ on June 22 as well as on a limited number of big screens in the US – a first for a Star Wars TV show. We Got This Covered reports that Cineplex is set to host viewings of all six episodes of the series back-to-back, clocking in at a whopping five hours and 20 minutes.

That runtime will reportedly also include a live Q&A streamed to theaters, although there’s no information so far as to who may be participating in the session. There’s also no word as to whether the event will be taking place in additional countries at some point, but it’s possible this may just be a very limited engagement.

There are currently three LEGO Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi sets available for pre-order, with75334 Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Darth Vader,40547 Obi-Wan Kenobi & Darth Vaderand75336 Inquisitor Transport Scytheall releasing on August 1. In addition, multiple new LEGO Star Wars sets have been confirmed to be appearing at LEGO CON on June 18.
