A weirdly rare LEGO Harry Potter set is back in stock online

A LEGO Harry Potter set that’s proved surprisingly difficult to come by in recent months is back in stock at LEGO.com in the UK.

Whether you’re a board game aficionado or just want a complete collection of golden LEGO Harry Potter 20th anniversary minifigures, 76392 Hogwarts Wizard’s Chess should be on your radar. Recreating the giant game of wizard’s chess from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the 876-piece set includes minifigures of Harry, Ron and Hermione, along with a golden Snape.

It’s also been out of stock at LEGO.com in the UK for quite a while, and given it’s otherwise exclusive to John Lewis – where it’s also currently unavailable – 76392 Hogwarts Wizard’s Chess has been remarkably hard to find. Its return is well-timed, however, because its £59.99 RRP will get you very close to qualifying for both of the current gifts-with-purchase online.

30583 Easter Bunny is free with orders above £40, while a £65 spend will also net you 40527 Easter Chicks. Topping up 76392 Hogwarts Wizard’s Chess with something that costs at least £5.01 – say, a couple of keyrings or Collectible Minifigures – will qualify your basket for both freebies, along with free delivery and VIP points.

Curiously, 76392 Hogwarts Wizard’s Chess doesn’t show up on the Harry Potter theme page at the official online store. That’s probably just an error on the back end, but it should at least mean it hangs around for a little longer, now that it’s also literally hard to find at LEGO.com

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
