The two new LEGO Chinese New Year sets are now on LEGO.com, revealing their price points and piece counts.
The LEGO Group unveiled 80106 Story of Nian and 80107 Spring Lantern Festival at this year’s China International Import Exhibition. They’ve been developed specifically for the Chinese market, but they’ll also be available worldwide through LEGO.com.
They’ve now appeared on the online store ahead of their official release on January 10, 2021. And that’s given us our first look at how much they cost, and how many pieces you’ll get for your money. The answer? Surprisingly little, and absolutely loads, respectively.
80106 Story of Nian contains 1,067 pieces for just £59.99 (or $79.99), while 80107 Spring Lantern Festival includes 1,793 bricks for £89.99 (or $119.99). That screams seriously good value from a price-per-piece perspective, but that’s not the only metric by which to judge a LEGO set. You’ll have to hang on for our reviews to find out if they’re genuinely worth splashing out for.
This year’s Chinese New Year sets, 80104 Lion Dance and 80105 Chinese New Year Temple Fair, are still available at LEGO.com. However, they’re both rumoured to retire this year, so don’t wait around if you still want them.
