Obi-Wan Wednesdays kicks off today – LEGO Star Wars reveals on the way?

Disney and Lucasfilm’s new marketing show Obi-Wan Wednesdays kicks off later today, and could involve multiple LEGO Star Wars reveals.

The first episode of Obi-Wan Wednesdays – which follows 2020’s Mando Mondays as an alliterative way to sell merchandise – drops two days before the premiere of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+, at 6pm UK time on Wednesday, May 25. And given the timing of last night’s reveal of two brand new LEGO Star Wars sets through the Walmart app, a LEGO presence seems likely.

We’ve only got relatively low-resolution images of 75333 Obi-Wan’s Starfighter and 75336 Inquisitor Transport Scythe so far, but both of those products could feature in the first episode of Obi-Wan Wednesdays. And if they do, we’ll likely not only see much better photos of both sets, but also learn when they’re due for release and how much they’ll cost.

These are only two of several sets rumoured to be launching later this summer, but it’s easy to see why they’re the first to be revealed: they both feature the main man himself, even while only one is directly connected to the new limited series. 75333 Obi-Wan’s Starfighter is instead based on Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, which still feels fitting given this year marks that movie’s 20th anniversary.

It also includes the first-ever Kaminoan minifigure in Taun We, while 75336 Inquisitor Transport Scythe features the return of the Grand Inquisitor and Fifth Brother from Star Wars Rebels, alongside a new Ben Kenobi minifigure and Reva (the Third Sister).

There’s always a chance that these sets will actually be officially revealed later this week, of course, at the LEGO Star Wars panel at Star Wars: Celebration on Friday, May 27. Either way, we’re bound to find out more about them – and 40547 Obi-Wan Kenobi & Darth Vader – soon.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
