Obi-Wan Kenobi release date month may have accidentally leaked

A Disney executive may have accidentally leaked the release date month for the upcoming Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series.

With the final episode of The Book of Boba dropping on Disney+ today, many fans are wondering what the next Star Wars TV show will be and when will it arrive. An answer may have come via a now-deleted tweet from a Disney executive, but it’s one that could also be referring to other upcoming Star Wars products.

Disney+ Enterprise/Global Program Manager Brandon SanGiovanni recently posted a tweet that the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen would be hitting Disney+ this May.

The tweet was then deleted, but has since been shared via Reddit. According to the Jedi News website, SanGiovanni went on to clarify that the post was a mistake and that he was actually referring to a forthcoming Star Wars: Obi-Wan Marvel comic book, arriving in May.

“This is a comic, to be clear,” said SanGiovanni. “Mixed two tweets and will now shame myself eternally.”

Last year’s Disney+ Day teased concept art for the show and revealed that the Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series would be arriving in 2022, but no specific date was confirmed. However, with the conclusion of The Book of Boba and no new Star Wars TV shows on the horizon, a release date of May could certainly still be possible.

No LEGOStar Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi sets have been announced or confirmed by the LEGO Group to date. However, we’d certainly like to see sets based on the upcoming Star Wars TV show and minifigures of the cast, which includes Bonnie Piesse and Joel Edgerton returning as Beru and Owen Lars.
