An upcoming publication by Chronicle Books offers an artsier look at LEGO bricks and minifigures.
LEGO in Focus: Explore the Miniature World of LEGO Photography places a variety of LEGO models in various real-world environments. A wide range of subject matter is explored here, with trains, minifigures and even a Monkie Kid set photographed in the book. We can see 30543 Christmas Train, 80026 Pigsy’s Noodle Tank and the Clumsy Guy from the Collectible Minifigures in the preview pages.

• New LEGO Star Wars book includes Poe Dameron minifigure
50 photographers have contributed to the publication, from fan photography communities Brick Central and Stuck in Plastic. Reportedly both of these communities work closely with the LEGO Group, so it seems safe to assume the book has the company’s seal of approval.
While the official product description says that a book like this is the first of its kind, we’re not sure if it’s quite as innovative as that. The description goes on to cite LEGO Star Wars: Small Scenes from a Big Galaxy as a similar product, and while it’s attractive, it’s probably not a comparison that does this book any favours.
Still, we can’t deny it’s a great choice for any LEGO fan. If you’re interested in picking it up, you can do so on October 4 when it releases worldwide. Expect to pay about £30 / $30 / €30 for it.
