More LEGO Looney Tunes rumoured for 2022

The LEGO Group’s partnership with Looney Tunes is rumoured to continue beyond just the Collectible Minifigures theme in 2022.

Twelve of the cartoon characters made their LEGO debut earlier this year in 71030 Looney Tunes (review), but that may only be the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship between the two brands. According to Instagram user lego_club_news, a two-pack of Looney Tunes-themed BrickHeadz will debut in winter or spring 2022.

Besides a potential product number of 40559 and a price tag of $19.99, there’s not much to go on right now. For an idea of which characters to expect, though, it’s probably a good idea to look to the line-up of minifigures in 71030 Looney Tunes: in the LEGO Group’s eyes, those are seemingly the most iconic of the bunch.

The safe money’s on Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck – at least if this is the only Looney Tunes BrickHeadz set in the works – but we could also get a more natural pairing, like Bugs and Lola, or even Sylvester and Tweety. And if more Looney Tunes BrickHeadz are planned for further down the line, we wouldn’t be surprised to see this first two-pack stray beyond the obvious.

Remember, this is still just a rumour for now – but if it pans out as expected, it bodes well for potentially more Looney Tunes tie-ins along the road, such as a second Collectible Minifigures series. There are still plenty of characters that are worth seeing in minifigure form (and one that’s definitely not).

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
