More details on rumoured LEGO Creator 31120 Medieval Castle

The Black Falcons’ comeback will reportedly continue this summer in LEGO Creator 31120 Medieval Castle.

The Classic Castle faction first popped up again in February’s 21325 Medieval Blacksmith, some nine years after their last appearance in a LEGO set in 10223 Kingdoms Joust. But according to Promobricks, their resurrection won’t be short-lived, as two more Black Falcons will be included in this summer’s 31120 Medieval Castle.

That’s just one of the new details that’s emerged on the rumoured new Creator 3-in-1 set, which will seemingly do for Castle what last year’s 31109 Pirate Ship did for Pirates: that is, bring it back under the umbrella of a one-off Creator release, as the LEGO Group recently hinted to Brick Fanatics.

Promobricks reports that 31120 Medieval Castle (or whatever the final product name ends up being) will resemble the classic 6074 Black Falcon’s Fortress from 1986, right down to the yellow half-timbered house at the rear of the structure. Unlike the original set, however, the new version will include blue roof elements, along with a brand new water wheel.

The Creator theme is known for fashioning everything from classic bricks – an ethos that even extends to 31109 Pirate Ship’s sails – and, sure enough, 31120 Medieval Castle will apparently also include a handful of brick-built animals, including chickens, a mouse and a green dragon. The minifigure line-up will then be rounded out by a civilian.

As with all 3-in-1 sets, you’ll also be able to rebuild the castle into two alternate models: a castle with a slightly different layout, including a windmill, tree and market stall; and a tall tower. If Promobricks’ information is correct, you can expect the set to include roughly 1,500 pieces, cost around €99.99, and launch in June 2021.

Until we hear official confirmation from the LEGO Group, however, it’s best to continue treating this rumour lightly.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
