KIRKBI A/S, the company that managed the investments of the LEGO Group’s owners, has appointed Malou Aamund as the only woman on the board.
It has been announced that Malou Aamund, the Country Director for Google Denmark, will join the board of KIRKBI A/S. She will be the only woman in such a position and will join as a non-executive director.
KIRKBI A/S manages the funds of the Kirk Kristiansen family, the owners of the LEGO Group, who have approximately $16 billion in assets.
“I am pleased to announce that Malou Aamund joins the KIRKBI Board of Directors. This appointment is part of the development of the Board to ensure we have the right set of competencies to support the company and our family in the continued family ownership of the activities in the KIRKBI Group,” said Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, Chairman of the Board. “Malou Aamund brings many valuable competencies to the Board from her experiences within the technology sector and as a member of the Danish Parliament.”
Aside from her four-year spell as a politician, Aamund’s roles have all been based in the technology sector.
With the support of two other investors, the Kirk Kristiansen family recently began the process of bringing Merlin Entertainments into private ownership, which will lead to them gaining more control over the LEGOLAND theme parks.
