A competitive LEGO building activity between architectural practices has slotted into the London Festival of Architecture schedule.
Given that LEGO bricks are the favoured medium of so many architects, at least when planning, it only makes sense that they should have a place in the London Festival of Architecture. The celebration of architecture is already taking place across the capital and will continue throughout June.
On June 23, the festival will hold the Big Architecture Family Day at the Royal Academy of Arts, Piccadilly. RA LEGO Architecture Challenge takes place from 2.00pm until 4.00pm.
Three of the UK’s leading architectural practices will compete to build the most innovative project that considers the boundaries between old and new in an urban setting – a relevant challenge for those in the industry. Attendees are welcome to turn up and see how these professional architects “consider their surrounding built environment and forge a new relationship between historic and contemporary architecture, all in LEGO form.”
The London Festival of Architecture runs from June 1 until June 30, with the full programme available at the event website.
