To go out at 0700 LEGOLAND Windsor Resort unveil new iconic additions to its world famous Miniland attraction in Berkshire. Nearly 2 million LEGO bricks were used to create the new models in Miniland Explore the World and Miniland USA, bringing the total number of bricks in Miniland to over 40 million. It took a team of 55 Model Makers from LEGOLAND Model Shops across the world, 12,000 hours to create Miniland USA and Explore the World. There are now 12 countries for guests to discover in Miniland (England, Scotland, Wales, France, Holland, Italy, Belgium, USA, Australia, China and India). The smallest model in the new scenes are the signs along Route 66, made up of just 36 LEGO bricks The stunning Sydney Opera House is made up of the most LEGO bricks Ð a huge 204,000! The tallest model in the new areas is the staggering Empire State Building standing at 4.4metres tall Ð the model is the second tallest in Miniland after the Canary Wharf at 5metres. The LEGOLAND Windsor Resort recently opened for the 2018 season, with new Explore the World and USA sections added to the famous Miniland area.
New areas have been added to Miniland at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, with Explore the World offering recreations of global landmarks and USA giving a taste of America. The attraction’s press team has shared footage of the new areas, including drone shots that show the refreshed Miniland from a whole new perspective.
The new Miniland Explore the World area includes brick built miniature recreations of landmarks including the Taj Mahal St. Basil’s Cathedral, the Sydney Opera House and the Forbidden City. Miniland USA took Model Makers over 12,000 hours to construct, with the finished area giving visitors a tour of America including New York City and Route 66. Both new sections are now open at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort.
As well as the additions to Miniland, the new LEGO Reef interactive experience and LEGO NINJAGO 4D movie have opened at the brick based attraction.
