LEGOLAND Water Park Gardaland attractions and opening date announced

The attractions that LEGOLAND Water Park Gardland will open with when it welcomes the first guests on May 8, 2020 have been announced.

Merlin Entertainments has announced that construction is continuing on LEGOLAND Water Park Gardland, with the opening date set as May 28, 2020. There is also news on the attractions that will be found within the water park.

Guests will enter under a huge wave, before coming across the LEGO River Adventure. This lazy river attraction will flow through most of the water park and will allow guests to customise their own rafts with floating LEGO bricks. It will travel through a cave and past the Italy-themed Miniland.

The Beach Party will feature play areas and colourful slides, including water cannons that fire water in all directions and giant bucket positioned over the tower that may have a tendency to tip over.

Young children will be able to build their own boats in the LEGO Creation Island area that can then float around a waterway. Other activities in this zone will include DUPLO bricks, giant soft bricks and sandcastle decorating.

DUPLO Splash will be an attraction for young children featuring ‘first water slides’, decorated with aquatic animals from around the world. Jungle Adventure Slides will offer a family experience, with a variety of slides to suit all tastes. Pirate Bay will feature a large swimming pool with a pirates’ fortress and LEGO characters.

“LEGOLAND Water Park Gardaland will have so many attractions that visitors will be thrilled, whether young or old,” says Luca Marigo, Gardaland Sales and Marketing Director. “There will also be special themed areas, with lots of colourful water slides for youngsters and kids of all ages, as well as a creative area where children can discover the fun of building with DUPLO and LEGO bricks, swimming pools equipped with sunbeds, deck chairs and large gazeboes where families can relax”.

While the construction continues, Gardaland is looking to hire 50 professional staff members, including 40 lifeguards.

“We are especially proud to confirm, as we have done in the past, that Gardaland will be creating new professional positions in the leisure market sector,” says Lia Maistrello, HR Director Gardaland. “Moreover, LEGOLAND Water Park Gardaland is a totally innovative and unique entity in the whole of Europe which requires specific skills!”
