LEGOLAND Germany 2020 season cut short by coronavirus

LEGOLAND Germany will end its 2020 season early on November 1, as the country prepares for another national lockdown.

The resort was originally set to open on weekends throughout next month, before closing on November 29. That date has now been brought forward by the German government’s decision to re-enter lockdown amid the ongoing pandemic, with forced closure of bars, restaurants, gyms, theatres and theme parks from Monday.

That means this weekend is your last chance to visit LEGOLAND Germany before the season recommences in March. Of course, there’s no guarantee the park will be open then, either. In these abnormal times, nothing is certain. Except, of course, that you definitely won’t be able to pop by after Sunday.

LEGOLAND Billund, meanwhile, is still planning to open its doors for two extra weekends in November to compensate for the late start to its 2020 season. But the team in Denmark has its sights set firmly on 2021, and the delayed opening of its brand new The LEGO Movie World.

The British government is currently resisting any kind of national lockdown, so for the time being, LEGOLAND Windsor’s doors are open to the public on select dates, up to and including January 4, 2021. A new area named LEGO MYTHICA: World of Mythical Creatures will open in the spring to celebrate the park’s 25th anniversary.
