LEGO teases rumoured Colosseum as ‘largest product ever made’

LEGO Italy is teasing what appears to be the rumoured 10276 Colosseum, billing it as the “largest LEGO product ever made”.

The LEGO Group’s Italian site has published an image that reads – when translated to English – “once every 2,000 years”. And wouldn’t you know it: the Roman Colosseum is 2,000 years old.

The ad also asks fans to save the date for November 13, 2020 at 3pm, suggesting an imminent reveal for the enormous set. The text beneath the image further hints at the existence of the Colosseum (translated using Google):

LEGO presents the brick reproduction of one of the most fascinating monuments in the world. This is the largest LEGO product ever made, with great attention to detail to make it faithful to the original and to enhance its timeless beauty.

According to recent rumours, 10276 Colosseum will come in at 9,035 pieces. That would definitely make it the largest LEGO set to date, dwarfing current frontrunner 75192 Millennium Falcon.

The model would typically have belonged to the Creator Expert theme. However, the LEGO Group retired thatthis year, replacing it with the 18+ badge. It’s safe to assume that if this rumoured Colosseum does pan out as LEGO Italy suggests, it will carry that new 18+ designation.
