A LEGO summer club in Stockton, California, has had equipment stolen valued at thousands of dollars.
Every summer Bricks 4 Kids, a family owned franchised unofficial LEGO club, offers a six-week summer camp for children to explore engineering, robotics, mechanics, architecture, coding and generally get hands on with lots of LEGO bricks. The company has suffered a setback though, as electronic equipment, LEGO kits and other resources were stolen over the weekend.
“Hopefully, we can get it all replaced,” business owner Brent Fujii told RecordNet.
The value of the stolen items is $9,200, which included tablets, a 42” television, LEGO Mindstorm sets – and a mop. When Fujii arrived to find the break-in had occurred, LEGO bricks were scattered outside of the building. Despite it being relatively tucked away on the second floor, the thieves found the offices in which the equipment was bring stored.
Outside of the summer, the business goes mobile and offers after-school clubs for children in the local area.
Bricks 4 Kidz is aiming to replace the equipment as soon as possible and get everything back up and running as normal.
