Fans in England can visit the LEGO Store again as of today, with the branded stores reopening with special measures in place.
While LEGO Stores in the USA started re-opening a few weeks ago, those in the UK remained close. Now, the branches in England will re-open as the government allows ‘non-essential’ retailers to welcome customers back to the shopping experience. LEGO Stores will have restrictions in place to help reduce the spread of coronavirus.
LEGO Stores in Wales and Scotland will remain closed as the devolved governments follow different timelines for emerging from lockdown.
On March 18, every LEGO Store in the world closed as the coronavirus pandemic spread. Shortly thereafter, the UK government closed down all retailers deemed non-essential as part of lockdown measures.
Today, retailers in England have been given permission to re-open as long as they adhere to government guidance, including distancing requirements. Some services, such as changing rooms, will be unavailable.
LEGO.com has continued to supply fans with LEGO sets while the physical stores have been closed, with the store proving so popular that sets have been going in and out of stock.
