LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga IGN Fan Fest interview

IGN Fan Fest interviewed TT Games director of production, Jonathan Smith, to find out more aboutLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

At yesterday’s IGN Fan Fest, TT Games released a Developer Diary showcasing the many years of hard work and talent that has gone into creating the upcomingLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. In addition, director of production, Jonathan Smith, sat down with the site to chat in more detail about the game.

During the discussion Smith reiterated how much the whole TT Games team had brought to the table during the title’s long development period. The focus of the interview was purely on how much effort, time and enthusiasm the developer had put into LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, with no mention of rumoured crunch surrounding the game.

Smith talked about how everything in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been built from the ground up, with TT Games not wanting to merely rehash previous titles. He mentioned the game’s new combat system, with counter moves being used during battles, the two-player fixed split screen co-op mode, large set piece duels and rewards for player progression.

What’s clear from the interview is that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been a passion project for Smith and the entire team, with the title being the largest and most immersive TT Games release to date.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will launch on April 5 and you can read more details about the forthcoming video game in our pre-order guide here.
