LEGO Star Wars Battles to shut down before release

The upcoming LEGO Star Wars Battles mobile game has been cancelled before it even managed to officially release as early access users spot an in-game message.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is now the only upcoming LEGO video game based on the blockbuster franchise as the mobile title, LEGO Star Wars Battles will soon shut down, according to reports from users managing to play the game before an official release.

Twitter user the tablet top gamer posted the full message sent to all players from developers Playdemic, confirming the plans to shut down the game on July 1. This will consequently restrict in-game purchases and encourages players to spend any remaining currency before that date.

There have been few updates on the title since the reveal with the game currently listed as releasing as coming soon on the Star Wars website. It seems likely that this in-game message will halt any further production, stopping it from ever releasing worldwide.

We’ll keep you updated if we learn more but players eager for an experience in a brick-built galaxy far, far away can at least look forward to LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga as evidence suggests some incoming information.
