The LEGO Group will replace Play Day with Virtual Play Week, which launches today.
Each year, the LEGO Group offers Play Day – a day when employees around the world are encouraged to put the company’s ethos into practice and indulge in play away from the desk. With coronavirus leading to significant disruption to ways of working, with many employees still working from home, LEGO Virtual Play Week is replacing Play Day for 2020.
Participants will be able to stream live events or watch pre-recorded sessions whenever it suits their schedule through a special digital platform that promises to allow both internal and external users to come together in a common ‘playground’. Facilitators will offer various sessions that LEGO employees will be able to follow along with from anywhere.
The online version of the event has allowed the LEGO Group to invite select partners, including Merlin Entertainment, adult fans of LEGO (AFOLs), Global UNICEF Skill Share, Sesame Workshop – South Africa and Care for Education.
Last year’s Play Day saw LEGO employees around the world having some fun away from the office.
