The third LEGO Ideas 2021 review results have been announced, confirming which of the 36 projects is getting an official set in the future.
It might be more appropriate to use ‘witch’ rather than which in this case as Hocus Pocus – The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage – Updated by Belgian fan designer Amber Veyt, known as TheAmbrinator on the platform is officially the latest LEGO Ideas set in production.
The submission, of which the initial fan design is pictured above, is based on the Hocus Pocus franchise that focuses on a trio of witches from the 17th century that is resurrected in the current day, causing mischief and mayhem as you might expect.
Their cottage home is depicted in the LEGO Ideas project with 11 proposed minifigures. Now, the team at LEGO Ideas will work away at transforming this initial design into the final product and no details on the release date have been made available at the time of writing.
Some of you may be unfamiliar with the franchise but it’s important to note that a sequel to the original film will arrive on Disney+ on September 30, 2022 – a factor that may have affected the results of this review since the property will be introduced to modern and younger audiences. However, that’s only speculation and has not been confirmed.
Either way, with the sequel arriving later this year and the LEGO Ideas Hocus Pocus model launching at some point following it, you might be able to look forward to getting your own Sanderson Sisters minifigures in the future, provided the final model follows the proposed design.
