Science can be fun, especially when combined with LEGO bricks – a YouTube video demonstrates this, using Ideas 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V to demonstrate concepts used in the construction of skyscrapers.
While there are plenty of obvious educational uses for LEGO Ideas 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V, namely learning about space and specifically the Apollo Saturn V mission, there are some less obvious uses too. One such example is using it to demonstrate one of the ways that skyscrapers are kept stable. In this video from Minutephysics, the popular set is used to show the way in which Tuned Mass Dampers are used to keep tall buildings – and other structures – stable. This particular set is useful to that thanks to its one metre tall height.
The set is full of accurate details to the real life spacecraft, including functionality allowing it to break apart into stages and the lunar lander. Standing one metre high, it is a worthy representation of the famous NASA rocket.
Whether uses for science demonstrations or for the fun of building, playing and displaying, LEGO Ideas 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V is available now at shop.LEGO.com.
