LEGO enthusiast Mike Addis has made the local news after building impressive LEGO recreations of the George Hotel and Cromwell Museum in Huntingdon.
Mike Addis is a keen LEGO builder, and has put together two Huntingdon, UK, landmarks, the Huntingdon Post reports. The George Hotel has been built to celebrate 60 years of the Shakespeare at The George (SaTG) theatre company, so of course depicts a performance of the Bard’s work. The 250,000 piece model will be on display at the venue until July.
As for the Cromwell Museum, the build replicates how it would have looked when Oliver Cromwell attended the grammar school that the building originally was 400 years ago.
“Mike’s one of our volunteers, and has created this very detailed and quite accurate model of what our building looked like in the early 1600s when Oliver Cromwell and Samuel Pepys were pupils here. It’s been split into two halves so people can see inside and see how complete it is to the last detail – even down to the Lego quill pens on the desks,” Stuart Orme, curator of the Cromwell Museum, told the newspaper.
