LEGO CON will be back in 2023
The curtain may have come down on LEGO CON for this year, but LEGO CON is already confirmed to be returning in 2023.
The dust may have only just settled on LEGO CON 2022, but as Joel McHale’s pink sweater faded from view and the credits rolled, we got confirmation that LEGO CON will be back next year. After a slightly wobbly start in 2021, the consensus seemed to be that the LEGO Group had taken a long hard look at what had – and hadn’t – worked from the launch show, and really upped their game for this year.
Hosts Melvin O’Doom, Vick Hope and Joel McHale helmed the two-and-a-half hour live stream and oversaw the building of a huge LEGO cake to celebrate the company’s 90th anniversary, had a LEGO STUNTZ spectacular – which was basically an excuse to mess around with the new wind-up motorcycles – and showed a number of trailers. These included a tease for a LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation special coming to Disney+ and a preview of the second batch of episodes for NINJAGO Crystalized.
Interspersed with all the events were a large number of announcements for new sets launching this year which included BrickHeadz, Star Wars sets, additions to the Minecraft theme and news of the upcoming Collectible Minifigures Series 23.
You can read our comprehensive review of the highlights from LEGO CON 2022 here, or – if you’ve got a few hours to spare – you can watch the whole stream by clicking here.
No specific date was mentioned for LEGO CON 2023, but given that the first two have been Saturdays near the end of June, we wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out to be June 24 next year. Only put that in your diary in pencil until officially confirmed though.
