It has been confirmed that BrickHeadz will continue in 2020 by a LEGO Design Manager.
The past few days have seen the LEGO Fan Media Days 2019 take place at the company’s headquarters in Billund, Denmark. During the event, Design Manager Marcos Bessa spoke to Zusammengebaut about the LEGO BrickHeadz theme.
He confirmed that the sets will continue into 2020, and see the theme presumably expand again as licensed characters return to the line-up.
It is a surprising move, as last year the theme seemed to be wound down, with stock discounted and the later releases only shipped in limited quantities. From the early San Diego Comic Con exclusives, to the initial retail launch, through the proliferation of sets to this year’s seasonal only sets, BrickHeadz had an interesting, winding road. That road is now confirmed to continue in 2020, although what those sets will be has not.
This year, LEGO BrickHeadz sets have been used as seasonal sets for the various holidays throughout the year. A selection of sets are available now, including 40348 Birthday Clown, 40354 Dragon Dance Guy, 40271 Easter Bunny, 40273 Thanksgiving Turkey and 40349 Valentine’s Puppy.
