Last chance to pre-order BrickLink AFOL Designer Program sets

Time’s running out to pre-order BrickLink’s AFOL Designer Program sets, with the crowdfunding stage of the campaign ending tomorrow.

Currently, 13 of the 16 models have reached their funding goal, with only NewEletia45’s Clovershire Castle, janyap’s Viking Ship 3D Mosaic and dbodky’s Poseidonia falling short. None of those projects have managed the halfway mark, so at this stage, it’s pretty unlikely they’ll reach the required number of backers.

At the other end of the scale, Raziel_Regulus’s Löwenstein Castle is currently 2,113% funded, while Legopard’s Wild West Saloon is a whopping 1,587% funded. All the other projects have reached at least the amount needed to be produced, so if you’ve backed any of them, they’ll soon be arriving on your doorstep.

When they do, they’ll turn up in some really nice packaging, as BrickLink recently unveiled. The white boxes feature the website’s logo, a single image of the model, and the LEGO Group’s “60 Years of the Brick” logo. What’s more, each one folds out to act as a backdrop for its model. Head over to the crowdfunding page at BrickLink to see each of the models, and put in any last-minute pledges.

Don’t worry if you can’t afford to back your model of choice at the moment, though. You should still be able to order them beyond tomorrow’s deadline – you’ll just miss out on the free postage that comes with pre-orders.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
