Bond meets the brick in this LEGO stop motion video that recreates the openinf of Thunderball, put together by a family stuck indoors due to the measures put in place to manage the spread coronavirus.
Composer Jon Opstad has been isolating with his family due to the coronavirus pandemic. To occupy his young children, he busted out the LEGO bricks and worked on a little stop motion video with them.
The stop motion LEGO story recreated the opening of Thunderball, which saw Sean Connery’s James Bond escape capture using a rocket pack.
Fans of that era of James Bond probably own 10262 James Bond Aston Martin DB5 (review), which features the ejector seat functionality.
He tweeted:
Been isolating at home with my wife & kids for a week now. For my contribution to home schooling my kids (aged 6 & 4) I chose the most obvious thing – creating a shot-by-shot recreation of the jet pack sequence from THUNDERBALL out of LEGO. [turn sound on] #JamesBond @LEGO_Group
Faithful to the film, the clip sees James Bond evading bad guys on a rooftop, where he departs using his rocket pack. He travels to where his Aston Martin is parked, which he uses to foil his attackers.
