31129 Majestic Tiger is an inspired Creator 3-in-1 LEGO set that, as it turns out, looks just as cool recoloured to white – here’s how to do it, including the parts list that you need.
The best LEGO sets inspire you to go further – they are the ones you can’t put down or the ones that give you ideas for new things to build. 31129 Majestic Tiger is one such set (read our review here), full of poseability, detail and character, and we just had to see what it would look like coloured white. This is of course based on the rare white Bengal tiger, whose coat lacks the orange pigmentation.
Converting 31129 Majestic Tiger from orange to white is relatively straightforward, once you have a copy of the Creator 3-in-1 LEGO set and the parts list to swap out every orange piece included within it with a white piece instead.
We have created that parts list and will distribute it in our newsletter to current subscribers starting this week, including a link to it at the end of every Friday’s weekly round-up. We have currently closed subscriptions to our awesome, personalised newsletter service, but will update this article when we re-open them.
Almost all the pieces in 31129 Majestic Tiger are available in white, bar the printed 1×2 cheese slopes, which we have opted to swap out for plain white 1×2 cheese slopes. Apart from this piece, every other element is available in white and is relatively easy to find stock of online – purchasing all the parts in new condition from UK-only stores on BrickLink came to a total price of just under £20, excluding postage.
Once you have the parts in white, it’s simply a case of building the tiger as per the original instructions, but taking care to swap out any orange piece for the corresponding piece in white. It does make the build process that little bit longer, but no less intriguing for how the anatomy of the animal comes together, with that brilliant crescendo at the end when you put the head together.
The finished model in white is just as spectacular as it is in orange, thanks to the wonderfully intelligent and wholly unique design. How do you think it looks? Should we try for a Battle Cat or Panthor version next?
Support the work that Brick Fanatics does by purchasing your copy of 31129 Majestic Tiger via one of our affiliate links, either now that it is back in stock at LEGO.com, or while it is also still in stock at John Lewis. Thank you!
