Progress continues to be made on the new LEGO campus in Billund, if this giant brick is anything to go by.
Big changes are taking place in Billund, Denmark, where the LEGO Group is constructing a new campus. Progress looks like it is being made, as Senior LEGO Model Designer Mark Stafford tweeted an image of a giant oversized brick being delivered, with the caption:
“There’s a massive brick outside.” Says my colleague. Sure enough there is a truly massive 1×4 on a truck… #justbillundthings
The first employees are due to move into the new office space this year, before the buildings become fully operational in 2020. Up to 2,000 employees will work in the new space that will include a public park as well as the significant work space.
”We are also creating a space for the community that reflects our values of creativity, caring and play,” Claus Flyger Pejstrup, Senior Vice President said when the new campus was announced. “In addition, a significant part of the new building will be reserved for what will be called ‘LEGO People House’. Here, LEGO employees from all over Billund as well as colleagues from abroad travelling to the headquarters can gather, be creative, and physically active together, both during and outside working hours. We hope that People House will be a melting pot for the many versions of our global LEGO culture.”
