The trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the next installment in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter franchise, is now available online.
After sitting out Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the LEGO Group is returning to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter later year this year. The new theme will come ahead of the latest film in the series, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The trailer for the new movie has just dropped online, giving fans a first taste of the upcoming feature.
In a new display of synergy with Warner Bros., the LEGO Group also announced the first set based on the film at the same time that the trailer dropped – Grindelwald in Thestral-drawn carriage.
Based on the footage revealed, it looks like this next adventure will feature some globe-trotting, as the filmmakers delve into Harry Potter lore while incorporating the titular beasts. Johnny Depp reprises his role as Gellert Grindelwald, who was disguised as Colin Farrell in the last installment, with Jude Law joining the cast as young Dumbledore.
Here is the official synopsis:
At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
The LEGO Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme will launch on August 1. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will be released in cinemas on November 16.
