Two of the TT Games developers behind LEGO DC Super-Villains share a taste of the gameplay in a new video.
In an exclusive video from the LEGO Group, TT Games Developers Phil and Matt play through the Gorilla City level of LEGO DC Super-Villains. The duo share some thoughts and highlight fun inclusions in the level as they follow it through using characters such as Lex Luthor, Reverse Flash and Cheetah.
The duo note that the new game features the Rebirth character designs in minifigure form, to offer something different from previous LEGO DC titles.
With the ruined temple and puzzle solving, the beginning of the level feels a little like a blocky version of Tomb Raider. The new Speed Force ability is demonstrated, that sees fast characters such as Reverse Flash having to collect bricks while running at super speed. Moments of quintessential LEGO comedy are incorporated, such as building a giant banana to gain access to a new area.
Boss battles in the game feature an arena with a dynamic camera following the player. In this level, Gorilla Grodd must defeat Solovar.
This latest release from the prolific LEGO video game developer will see players tale control of DC’s most chaotic characters, as the Justice Syndicate replace the Justice League as part of a nefarious scheme. It is up the usual villains to become the heroes of the story and defeat this new threat, collecting endless studs and smashing up LEGO objects along the way.
LEGO DC Super-Villains can be pre-ordered now, in a standard edition and also a special edition including an exclusive Lex Luthor minifigure.
