Brick Wonders exhibit brings LEGO models to the Horniman Museum

The Brick Wonders LEGO exhibit, that has been touring the UK, has arrived at the Horniman Museum in London.

The Horniman Museum in Forest Hill, London, is playing host to Warren Elsmore’s Brick Wonders exhibition. Visitors to the museum will be able to enjoy 50 unique LEGO models until October 27, with adult tickets priced at £9 and child tickets priced at £5.

Beginning with the seven wonders of the ancient world, Brick Wonders also takes in modern, natural, and historic wonders from all continents. Some of the topics covered in the 60 models include Martin Luther King’s life and the first moon landing. Impressive recreations cover the Matterhorn, Old London Bridge and the Aurora Australis. The central model in the 500,000 brick display is a two by four metre model of an airport.

“We love transforming the world around us into LEGO scenes,” says the creator of the exhibition, Warren Elsmore. “It’s a fun way to translate history into a medium that everyone can understand and relate to, especially young people.”

Brick Wonders focuses on historical buildings, but also includes some models inspired by the natural world.
