Star Wars Battlefront II full trailer unveiled

Following the shorter, leaked trailer for EA’s upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II, a full-length trailer for the saga-spanning sequel has been unveiled at Star Wars Celebration Orlando.

As the leaked trailer (which we broke down here) revealed, the game will span all eras of the Star Wars movie canon, including the prequels, sequels and, of course, the original trilogy. That means getting to play as six different factions, from the Republic and Empire to the First Order and Separatists. There’ll be a bounty of heroes to play as too, including new ones like Yoda and Darth Maul, and new worlds and environments to battle in.

The story mode to the game will be based around the ‘untold story of Iden Versio, an elite Stormtrooper’ in charge of an Imperial unit named Inferno Squad. The narrative will be a Star Wars canon story, and will follow the character’s journey beginning from the final moments of Return of the Jedi when the Death Star II is destroyed, into the 30-year gap to The Force Awakens, connecting the original trilogy to the sequel trilogy.

Check out the full trailer below, and stay tuned for a closer look at what this could mean for the LEGO Star Wars line.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.

Very much looking forward to this game. The story mode looks absolutely amazing from what we’ve seen so far. Definitely my most anticipated game of this year.
