LEGO Singles’ Day 2021

Unless you’ve been living under a rock the last few years – or perhaps too engrossed in your LEGO Architecture sets to notice – you probably know all about Black Friday and Cyber Monday. But did you know about the other shopping bonanza called Singles’ Day? Whether you’ve been asking what Singles’ Day is or when it is, read on for all the information you need about this exciting day to mark in your calendar.

What is Singles’ Day?

Singles’ Day is an unofficial Chinese holiday celebrating the lonely hearts among us. As part of the festivities, Singles’ Day is also a shopping event that’s grown to be the biggest on the planet for online sales. Originally called Bachelors’ Day, the event is now much more inclusive and has become a popular event around the world. Also known as Click Frenzy in Australia, the concept has been gaining traction in places such as the UK and the United States over recent years, meaning we could be in for a much bigger occasion this time round than Singles’ Day 2020.

When is Singles’ Day 2021?

Singles’ Day in 2021 is exactly the same as every year: November 11. This is because the Chinese symbol for the number one resembles a bare stick, which is a slang term for someone who isn’t married. Their family tree doesn’t have the branches you get from partnering up – get it? As such, November 11, or 11/11, was chosen for its representation of four singles.

What is Click Frenzy?

Click Frenzy is Australia’s answer to Cyber Monday and Singles’ Day. As Singles’ Day has spread around the globe, it’s been incorporated into Click Frenzy, which has a number of events throughout the year. This includes a Valentine’s Day event, May’s Click Frenzy Mayhem, Click Frenzy Julove in July and November’s Main Event. In 2021, this begins at 8am UK time on Tuesday November 9, running for 53 hours of online shopping utopia.

Singles’ Day LEGO sale

Whether you’re treating yourself to a Singles’ Day gift, or perhaps picking out something special for a fellow bachelor or bachelorette, the LEGO Group has got on board with the concept of this relatively new holiday. There’s a page dedicated to the event on LEGO.com, leading us to believe we’re going to see some exciting LEGO Singles’ Day deals in 2021. It may be wishful thinking at this stage, but we’re hoping the LEGO Group goes all out on the holiday with the same level of deals we’ll see later in the month.

LEGO Click Frenzy deals

As a precursor to Singles’ Day, the LEGO Group could use the start date of the Click Frenzy sales a couple of days earlier to set its own sale live. We’re hoping to see the group’s Click Frenzy deals take off this year as a nod to LEGO collectors down under, with sets such as 31203 World Map and 10279 Volkswagen T2 CamperVan ideal for this particular event. It remains to be seen which collections get some love for the Click Frenzy and Singles’ Day jamboree.

LEGO double VIP points

Double LEGO VIP points are a stalwart of the Black Friday–Cyber Monday sales, and we could see them handed out for Singles’ Day and Click Frenzy this year. A move like that from LEGO.com would certainly raise awareness of this earlier sales event, and potentially load up our balances to splash out on the Black Friday sales.

LEGO VIP discount vouchers

We were treated to half price discount vouchers during last year’s Cyber Monday event, and here’s to hoping the LEGO Group does the same for Singles’ Day. If you’ve been building up your LEGO VIP points, this could mean you’d be able to grab a £20 discount voucher for 1,600 points, the equivalent of a £10 voucher. This would be another move to get LEGO fans interested in Click Frenzy and engage with the concept of Singles’ Day.

LEGO gifts-with-purchase

We’re looking forward to seeing what gifts-with-purchase the LEGO Group offers this Black Friday and Cyber Monday. As a sneak peek, there’s a chance we could get something along the lines of last year’s 40410 Charles Dickens Tribute for Singles’ Day, whereby the LEGO Group puts together a unique offer just for one day only.

While it’s not explicitly tied to Singles’ Day, we already know that at least 40488 Coffee Cart will be available in the US with purchases above $65 from November 8 to 14. If stock holds out, that promo period will encompass Singles’ Day.

LEGO Star Wars Singles’ Day deals

As one of the LEGO Group’s biggest and best collections, we’re always hopeful that some of our favourite LEGO Star Wars sets receive promotional attention during the year’s most notable shopping events. It might be too soon for 75308 R2-D2 or 75309 Republic Gunship to attract weighty discounts, but you never know.

LEGO Architecture Click Frenzy deals

Perhaps as a tactic to get more people engaging with Singles’ Day, the LEGO Group may discount location-specific Architecture sets, such as 21034 London in the UK or 21028 New York City in the US. Retiring LEGO Architecture sets such as 21043 San Francisco are also very likely to attract the best Singles’ Day and Click Frenzy deals in 2021.

LEGO NINJAGO Singles’ Day deals

Having recently celebrated its 10th birthday, NINJAGO is expected to be a key player over the next month or two of sales. Perhaps the collection will be the star of Click Frenzy 2021, with the likes of Zavvi and IWOOT already recently slashing prices on sets including 71755 Temple of the Endless Sea and 71738 Zane’s Titan Mech Battle. If this year’s Click Frenzy sale includes even more tempting NINJAGO discounts, there won’t be any complaints here.
