Last year’s popular LEGO VIP coins will still cost you big bucks on eBay, with complete 2021 sets currently selling for nearly $700.
The LEGO Group has today confirmed that it will be bringing back its limited-edition collectible coins from tomorrow, January 11. Last released in 2021, the five coins and coin holder will be available to redeem in the VIP Rewards Centre.
The five coins are based on four retro LEGO themes — Castle, Space, Pirates and Town — and are sure to be snapped up by fans as quickly as they were last year. The 2021 coins were available for 1,150 points each, or a whopping 6,900 points for the complete set.
If you don’t have enough VIP points to redeem, you could always pick up last year’s coins on eBay but be prepared to dig deep into your wallet to secure them. A quick look at a number of listings on the online auction site reveals complete sealed LEGO VIP coin sets are currently going for as much as $699 (that’s around £515 / €617). With that in mind, you might want to cash in your VIP points tomorrow and grab as many of this year’s coins as you can, with demand sure to outstrip supply.
The LEGO VIP limited-edition collectible coins offer will go live across the following time zones as follows:
Aus/NZ – midnight Sydney time
Japan – midnight local time
Korea – midnight local time
Europe – 10am GMT/11am CET
US and Canada – 9am EST
